Park Rangers

Park rangers offer protection in various areas but are not limited to just National parks. They can also be enforcing rules and regulations at various historical locations and designated placed to enjoy recreational activities. A park ranger will be responsible for plenty of different tasks based on the type of environment they work in.

The goal of a park ranger is to offer a safe place for people to enjoy nature. At the same time they work hard to protect the wildlife and plant life that are in the area. Educating the public about the area is also important. Many park ranges are part of activities for children and youth. This way they learn to enjoy what nature has to offer but at the same time they learn to respect nature as well.

The majority of park ranger jobs are seasonal as that is when the National parks have their busy season with people. Those that do have full time park ranger positions have a higher ranking over other individuals. Still, these seasonal positions are very important as there are more issues that need attention than the regular staff can handle.

Many of these seasonal employees have another job too so they are able to make ends meet. Some of them are retired individuals and they love the work in the busy season for extra income and something to do with their time.

The qualifications for a park ranger depend on the level of responsibility they have. It also depends on the type of facility that they are working in. A great deal of the training is on the job as it is structured towards how the operation is run in that particular location. There are plenty of great park ranger jobs out there around the country though. With the right skills you can find some terrific opportunities for you to make money while enjoying the outdoors.

Not all park ranger jobs have to do with the outdoors though as there is plenty going on behind the scenes. People need to make reservations for camp sites, get directions, pay employees, write tickets for people violating the rules, and offering first aid assistance. Park rangers definitely allow people and nature to be able to interact on a level that is safe for everyone.
